How to Access and Map Buffalo NAS Shared folders in macOS


1.    If this is your first time setting up a Buffalo NAS, please start with referring to these articles:

2.  (Optional) Create an user account if desired or use the default admin account. Please refer to this KB.

3. Proceed to edit Share folder settings, enable access restrictions and set the desired user account to Read/Write access.

 

4.    Next, we will connect to the NAS share. Locate "Go" in the Mac Finder and click "Connect to Server".

 

8.    At the “Server Address”, enter the Buffalo NAS IP address using the SMB protocol.

 

9.    Enter the login credentials for the Buffalo NAS and click Connect.

 

10.    Select the Buffalo NAS share we want to mount. Select the new share and click OK.


11.    The new share is now mounted and available for use. You can locate the Buffalo NAS under "Locations" from the left side menu.
