Product Transition Announcement Update - TS5010 and TS6000 NAS Families to TS5020 NAS Family

DEC 2022—Buffalo Americas, a leading provider of easy-to-use storage solutions and award-winning pre- and post-sales support, is announcing a product life-cycle status change for the TeraStation 5010 and 6000 Series network attached storage product families to While Supplies Last, as well as the transition to the new TeraStation 5020 Series product family.
Buffalo’s new TeraStation 5020 Series NAS combines the affordable utility of the TS5010 series and the security of the TS6000 series. With updated CPU and RAM, the TS5020 offers smoother operations and reduced backup times, even within high-load environments. Fully compatible with VMware and Hyper-V, the TS5020 can be set as an iSCSI backup target and iSCSI replication capable, allowing you to fully leverage virtualization to enhance your performance and security.

The TS5020 also features robust security features such as two-factor authentication (2FA) to protect your login credentials, as well as a closed system and multiple on- and offline backup features to protect your data. The TS5020 also includes the popular snapshots feature from our TS6000 devices—a game changer that allows you to back up and recover data near-instantaneously, without having to undergo cumbersome data recovery processes. Snapshots are highly-scalable, allowing you to recover individual files or entire storage volumes, and can help mitigate ransomware.
 

Buffalo’s TS5020 also features a new capacity range (8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 64, 80, 96, 144, 192, 240TB) to meet your growing data storage needs.

August 2023 Update:

All TeraStation 5010 and 6000 Series products will transition to While Supplies Last status and remain commercially available for sale through Buffalo’s authorized sales channels. Customers looking to secure units after this announcement are encouraged to contact a Buffalo representative immediately. The original warranty and technical support provided with these product families will remain in place, with assistance available after the announcement date.
