Recently, Apache reported a discovered security flaw with Log4j, a Java-based logging utility that is present in Java applications, especially enterprise software. The flaw allows threat actors to execute code remotely on a target server running affected applications, jeopardizing the data on that server.
Buffalo would like to assure our partners and customers that our full product lineup, including TeraStations, LinkStations, business switches, and other storage products, remains unaffected by the Log4j security vulnerability. Our products do not use the Log4j utility, and therefore are not in danger of being exploited.
Even so, we encourage our partners and customers to continue taking proper precautions in securing your data, such as keeping up with system updates and performing regular data backups, as part of data security good practices.
As a leading manufacturer of network storage with over 40 years of industry experience, Buffalo takes data security very seriously. Our acclaimed network attached storage is widely considered the most secure storage on the market. We will continue to monitor the situation to ensure that our products remain secure.
